I regularly hear students say, "I want to be a better rhythm player!" They often assume that learning a whole host of new chords is the answer, but in reality, it doesn’t matter how many chords you know. If you can’t make them GROOVE or if your internal sense of rhythm is underdeveloped, you’ll never be the rhythm player you want to become.

I decided to create Rhythm Mastery as a way to teach chords and progressions but more importantly, how to make them “feel good” and ultimately improve our own personal sense of rhythm.

Here is what you will learn inside:

• A Deep Dive Into Understanding Rhythm: You’ll learn how to decipher everything from whole notes to syncopated 16th notes and how they apply to our strumming hand. I understand some of you might be allergic to theory but, THIS is the stuff you’ll really want to retain as it will stay with you forever, regardless of the style of music you’re playing.
• Putting Rhythm into Play: Once we understand the nuts and bolts of rhythm, you’ll start to put it into play with chord progressions that start out simply but get more challenging as we go. As we learn new rhythms, I’ll continue to make the lessons more interesting with common chord moves you’ll need as a guitarist.
• Building Your Chord Knowledge: Of course, building a foundation of chord knowledge is important. Once we get our strumming to feel good and groove, I’ll introduce the most common 4-note chords you’ll encounter in music, like Maj7, Min7, dom7, and Min7b5. We’ll then combine them with the rhythms we learned in the previous section.
• Mastering "Expensive" Chords: The final section of the course will bolster our knowledge of “expensive” chords. We’ll talk about altered dominant chords and give you several ways to use the often misunderstood diminished 7th chord.
